Have you  been to California ?  Welcome to The California Tavern, where we have been the licensees since early 1993 - that’s long before 24 hour licensing, no smoking, and not being allowed to get too drunk was introduced !!!  As you are no doubt aware, all pubs have had to adapt and adjust in recent years and we like to  think we have done that pretty well by continuing our policy of ensuring we provide a pleasant and quality atmosphere for all age groups to enjoy. Being a Free House, we are able to offer all the premium brands at reasonable prices. Our Real Ales are top notch thanks to advice and guidance  from the top brewers over the years. We also stock some excellent red and white wines from all over the world. Our beer garden is safe for children and is fully enclosed so you can enjoy a beer in peace while they play on the adventure trail. Our live music is well known and probably the best in the region and our food menu offers a wide range for all tastes - and we also have a special menu for children. We have a lovely Pub for you to enjoy and it is thanks to our staff, friends and customers both old and new that we are still here and thriving. A special thanks to Steve Jinks who runs this website (and of course to Sonya for putting up with him !!! ).
